Senior Research Analyst

Location: Boston, MA, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA, or Palo Alto, CA | Hybrid

Salary Range: $98K-$141K depending on experience and location

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday | Rotational on-call weekend coverage 2-3 times/year

A prestigious international law firm is seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Senior Research Analyst to provide advanced legal research , business intelligence , and AI-powered research support to attorneys and business professionals across multiple practice areas.

This role is ideal for an experienced research professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is passionate about leveraging AI research tools , legal analytics , and innovative research strategies to drive impactful results.

Qualifications & Skills

• MLIS, MLS, J.D., or equivalent required
• 5+ years of professional research analyst experience, including legal research
• Experience within a law firm, legal services, or professional services environment is strongly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of legal databases, business intelligence tools, and AI research platforms
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience mentoring or training colleagues preferred
• Availability for occasional on-call weekend rotations (2–3 times annually)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level legal research , competitive intelligence , and business research support to attorneys and senior stakeholders
• Conduct complex research across litigation, regulatory, corporate, and industry matters
• Serve as a subject matter expert in AI-powered legal research tools and generative AI platforms
• Guide attorneys and colleagues on responsible and effective AI-assisted research workflows
• Mentor and train research staff on advanced research methodologies and emerging technologies
• Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments and contribute to internal alerts and publications
• Support research strategy , process improvement initiatives, and evaluation of emerging research technologies
• Maintain exceptional client service through strong communication, collaboration, and responsiveness
