Job Description

**$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS**

Shift Hours:

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm - No Weekends

Location:

Royal Oak Medical Center, 110 E. 2nd Street, Royal Oak, MI

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the provider and/or nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in delivering quality and compassionate care to patients. As a key member of the care team, you will engage with patients throughout their recovery journey, building trust and ensuring their comfort and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Greet patients with warmth and professionalism, escorting them to the recovery room and creating a welcoming environment
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories through attentive listening and clear communication
• Measure and accurately record vital signs, monitoring patient status and reporting changes to clinical leadership
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, explaining processes to reduce anxiety and encourage patient engagement
• Assist the provider during examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and supporting optimal patient outcomes
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure seamless, coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system
• Respond to patient needs with empathy and professionalism, contributing to a positive care experience

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: We're looking for candidates with a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and a genuine interest in patient care. We welcome applicants with basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills, along with experience in clinical medical assisting or related healthcare settings. Problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills are important to us. Familiarity with EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) systems is a plus!

QUALIFICATIONS

- Choose Your Path: We recognize diverse backgrounds and welcome candidates who meet any of the following:

 

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hours minimum)
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with a minimum of one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five (5) years
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of clinical medical assisting experience
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience within the past five (5) years
• Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting within the past five (5) years
