Position Description Posting Number Posting Number 01139 Position Title Position Title Work Study - Ambassador Center for Diversity & Inclusion Department Position Summary The Center for Diversity & Inclusion Student Ambassadors (CDISAs) will help students overcome their assumptions about others and the world, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the diversity in their communities. CDISAs will be responsible for event planning and execution, maintaining the center, serving as student advisors, assisting with marketing efforts, and representing the department. Additionally, student employees will conduct office hours to provide clerical and reception support for the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Education/Experience Currently enrolled as a second semester freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at Stevenson University who is in good standing with the University academically and judicially. Experience with data entry, answering phones preferred. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and qualify for federal work-study Knowledge/Skills/Ability Ability to complete administrative tasks such as data entry, online forms, answering phones, etc. Demonstrate an openness to learning, growing, and working with students of diverse backgrounds. Ability to multitask and take initiative Graphic Design skills or a working knowledge/willingness to learn how to use Canva. Model desired behaviors consistent with SU and the Center for Diversity & Inclusion’s ( CDI ) mission and values. Display interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed Ability to work at least 6 hours a week, including, but not limited to, office hours, events, open houses, accepted students’ days, etc. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better Maintain good standing with the University academically and judicially Physical Requirements Medium work: exerting up to 45 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Essential Functions Promote diversity and inclusion for all students on campus. Assist with the execution of programs and events through planning, setup, attendance, breakdown, etc. Assist with creating, revamping, and disseminating marketing materials for print, social media, and websites. Serve as a student advisor by bringing forth the ideas, suggestions, and peer feedback. Host at least one small-scale event Provide clerical & reception support in the Center of Diversity and Inclusion. Attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with your supervisor. Act as representative for CDI at Stevenson events, including but not limited to open houses, accepted students’ days, etc. Assist with collecting and assessing event feedback. Assist with designing bulletin boards. Keep the center clean and organized.
