Post-Conviction Relief Attorney

Overview We're looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position within a premier law firm with room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain experience in both criminal and immigration law and advance their career with an established firm in the Rancho Cucamonga area. As the Post-Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We’re seeking an attorney with previous litigation and/or appellate experience to join our team and handle post-conviction relief. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will manage their caseload, client interaction, and collaborate with our Post-Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. Responsibilities Advise the client on their legal rights in matters and draft legal documents related to their case. Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, and related tasks. Experience with immigration law is highly desirable but not required; this position will involve interactions with both criminal and immigration practices. Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients on strategies after each hearing. Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm. Manage court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and perform legal research. Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents. Manage workload of cases and provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits. Qualifications Criminal defense experience or immigration law experience. Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level. Team-oriented with a willingness to help, strategize, and collaborate with fellow associates. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $80,000 to $110,000 annual salary Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case-by-case basis.
