You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping deal strategies, elevating investor decision-making, and strengthening ERM’s position as the global leader in sustainability advisory services.**What You’ll Bring****Required*** Bachelor’s degree required.* 7–10+ years of experience in M&A advisory, management consulting, private equity, corporate strategy, or related fields.* Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle and investor decision-making processes.* Expertise in how ESG and sustainability factors influence valuation, risk, and integration planning.* Proven ability to independently drive workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs.* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights.* Strong project management and organizational skills in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments.* Ability to travel as needed.**Preferred*** Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or related).* Direct experience advising private equity and corporate clients.* Background in energy, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive sectors.**Key Responsibilities*** Support and, where appropriate, lead M&A advisory projects for private equity and corporate clients across sectors.* Conduct ESG and sustainability assessments, integrating qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform investment decisions.* Synthesize findings into concise, investor-ready deliverables, including reports and presentations.* Collaborate with ERM’s global technical experts to deliver multidisciplinary insights on every engagement.* Serve as a key contact for day-to-day client communication and project execution.* Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.* Apply ERM methodologies, quality standards, and best practices across all transactional work.* Support proposal development, budgeting, and marketing activities for new business opportunities.* Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, practice development, and enhancement of advisory tools.* Stay current on emerging ESG, sustainability, and M&A trends and represent ERM at industry events.For the **Principal Consultant, Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions** position, the anticipated annual base pay is **$130,000–$169,426 (USD)**. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
