Scientist, In Vivo

We are looking for a motivated Senior Scientist, In Vivo, to join our Preclinical Research team. You will focus on advancing cell therapy programs for neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson’s disease, requiring expertise with the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) lesion model in nude rats.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, execute, and analyze in vivo studies on efficacy, safety, and mechanisms of cell therapy candidates.

• Lead study designs, dosing, behavioral assessments, and necropsy for the 6-OHDA nude rat model.

• Develop and refine animal models for neurodegeneration and cell therapies.

• Collaborate with teams in cell biology, histology, and translational medicine.

• Ensure compliance with IACUC protocols and maintain high animal welfare standards.

• Present data in meetings, author study protocols/reports, and support regulatory filings.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Neuroscience, Cell & Molecular Biology, or related field with 2+ years postdoctoral/industry experience; MS with 6+ years or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience leading in vivo studies for neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease.

• Expertise with stereotaxic injections in rats; preferred experience with the 6-OHDA lesion model in nude rats.

• Strong background in small animal surgery, including work with immune-deficient rodents.

• Proficiency in animal behavioral assays.

• Excellent data analysis, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with human iPSC-derived cell therapies.

• Skills in histology, imaging, and stereology techniques.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for IND-enabling studies.

• Experience with in vivo imaging.

• Prior industry experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals.
