Air and Ocean Export Agent

Air & Ocean Export Specialist | San Diego, CA

Altius Talent is partnered with an international freight forwarder in San Diego that is looking to add an experienced Air & Ocean Export Specialist to its operations team.

This is a hands-on export role, ideally suited to someone with strong air export experience who can also handle ocean export shipments . The client needs someone who understands the forwarding process properly and can manage shipments from booking through to final delivery and billing.

The role will involve:

Managing air export shipments from A-Z

Handling ocean export shipments , including bookings, documentation, and carrier coordination
Preparing and checking export documentation
Liaising with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, overseas agents, and customers
Arranging collections, bookings, cut-offs, and export compliance requirements
Providing proactive shipment updates to clients
Resolving delays, documentation issues, and operational problems
Completing billing and ensuring files are accurate and compliant

What were looking for:

Previous experience in international freight forwarding
Strong air export operations experience
Ocean export experience highly desirable
Good knowledge of export documentation and compliance
Experience coordinating with carriers, agents, truckers, and customers
CargoWise experience would be a strong advantage
Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple shipments at once
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
