Job Opportunity

Position: Seasonal Travel RN - NICU

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Unit Information

This is an opportunity to work in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a total of 42 beds and a dedicated team of 100 staff members. The nursing staff consists of 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 14-17 Registered Nurses (RNs), and 1 unit coordinator.

Patient Ratios

• 2:1 ratio for most patients
• 1:1 ratio for critical patients

Type of Equipment

• Incubators and radiant warmers
• Continuous cardiorespiratory monitoring
• High Frequency Oscillating Ventilation
• Jet Ventilation and Servo ventilation
• Tracheostomy and high-flow nasal cannula
• Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV)
• Central lines and Peripheral Intravenous (PIVs)
• Foley catheters
• Titrated and continuous medications
• Chest tubes and Arctic Sun

Electronic Medical Records

EMR system utilized: Neonatal Notes Manager, Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care NICU Level IV hospital experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for floating
• Post-surgical care experience

Typical Procedures Performed on Unit

• Intubation
• Central line placement
• PIV insertion
• Therapeutic hypothermia
• Lab draws and sepsis screening
• Gastric tube placement
• Circumcisions
• Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) exams
