Vice President of Accounting

Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a VP of Accounting . Our client is looking for someone with 10+ years of accounting experience, CPA certification, and strong attention to detail. The salary for this role will start at $140k +bonus. The VP of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: RESPONSIBILITIES Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Oversee the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support consistent and compliant financial reporting. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes. Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Support mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and integration activities. Lead accounting system implementations, ERP enhancements, and process automation initiatives. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization. Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture. The VP of Accounting will possess the following: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field 10+ years of accounting experience. CPA required Strong leadership skills with prior management experience. Well organized, detail oriented and accurate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
