Program Manager I

Job Overview Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas is looking to add to our Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters team an individual who is motivated, inspiring, with a people‑first mindset to deliver the Center’s proprietary brain health and performance tools. The position will serve as a BrainHealth subject‑matter expert, working with a former‑military subject‑matter expert to deliver in‑person SMART seminars to active duty military, score and debrief these individuals on the BrainHealth Index, and provide ongoing coaching of strategy implementation as warranted. The role will require relationship‑building, professional follow‑up with stakeholders, and travel. Responsibilities Deliver and facilitate in‑person SMART seminars, serving as brain health SME Collect and synthesize SMART participant feedback, reporting to the Project Director Complete train‑the‑trainer for SMART and pass facilitator competency evaluation Coach military service members, support personnel, and spouses on implementation of SMART strategies Debrief military service members, support personnel, and spouses on BrainHealth Index performance Demonstrate competency in BrainHealth Index debriefing and score online BrainHealth Indexes Utilize the BrainHealth dashboard for online content Collaborate with team and partner organizations to implement or incorporate BrainHealth tools into existing service structure Collaborate with program team to establish a long‑term roadmap for sustained engagement Travel to command or partner sites for onsite engagement Communicate with embedded providers and military leadership in written and oral format Report to Program Director and Operations Officer, ensuring routine updates on progress Develop and maintain relationships within the community to sustain engagement Qualifications Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Education & Experience Master’s degree in speech‑language pathology, psychology, human performance, sports psychology, or a related field; 3‑year experience working with adults in a coaching or rehabilitation setting; understanding of or willingness to learn about the military community, including operational tempo, opportunities, obstacles, and cultural norms. Other Qualifications Candidate must be able to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure if the position requires access to such infrastructure, as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code. Physical Demands Frequent out‑of‑state travel for meetings and trainings is mandatory. Work is performed in an office and training facility environment. Long hours are required on a computer. Work Environment & Conditions Hybrid remote work environment is available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. The candidate must be located within the DFW area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours’ notice.
