Taxation Oversight Leader

TAX MANAGERAn established and profitable CPA firm in search of a Tax Manager to enhance its team in Woodland Hills, CA. This role offers a balanced work life, generous benefits, and a clear path to Partnership.ResponsibilitiesThe Tax Manager will handle the timely preparation of clients' tax returns, demonstrating expertise in complex tax matters.Key DutiesReview and approve all tax returns and handle tax examinations confidently.Take charge of larger tax returns and assign tasks as needed.Possess advanced skills for client advisement and service delivery.Manage client service tasks within allocated time frames.Participate in client meetings and facilitate tax planning for larger clients.Act as a resource for tax specialists and accounting staff on tax issues.Oversee preparation of complex business tax returns.Manage client accounts directly or as delegated by the Partner.Communicate important tax developments to firm personnel and clients.Supervise and handle government tax examinations.Ensure smooth flow of tax returns for accurate and timely delivery.Maintain accurate billing processes and oversee collections.Research and recommend tax preparation software to partners.Participate in firm development activities through community engagement.Supervisory Responsibilities:Develop and train Supervisors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.Assess and address training needs for Tax staff members.Contribute to reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.QualificationsFive to seven years' experience in public accounting with increasing tax complexity.Minimum one year supervising tax preparers.Accounting degree required, taxation master's preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
