Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Baltimore, MD | Acute Care / Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekend shifts per contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department averaging approximately 200 visits per day, serving a diverse patient population spanning neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with potential adjustment to 1:4–5 based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Perform triage, IV management, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and management of IV vasopressors
• Provide care for ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation, as well as CVA patient management
• Demonstrate strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills in a Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
• Float within scope to support ED overflow patients on designated units based on facility needs; complete required annual ED orientation modules (up to 175 minutes) as a condition of assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact license valid in Maryland required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Level II Trauma Center experience required (hard stop — no exceptions)
• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department experience required; adult-only ED experience will not be accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG assessment required; annual stroke education requirements must be met per unit guidelines
• Charting experience with Cerner FirstNet preferred; scrub color is navy
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Triage experience preferred
• Familiarity with a comprehensive stroke center environment and associated protocols
