Payroll & Benefits Specialist

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is a key part of the Human Resources department, supporting Geonerco Management in providing management services to its builder companies (Harbour Homes, Riverside Homes, and Alpine Homes). This role serves as a key resource for employees regarding payroll and benefit-related questions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, confidential, and understands the intersectionality of HR and Accounting, including the importance of accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, invoice coding, and financial reconciliation. Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities, including funding allocations, hourly/salary employees, deductions, and accounting journal entries Ensure accurate payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws Process and reconcile HR-related invoices and coordinate payment submissions with accounting and benefits vendors Assist with payroll-related audits and reporting Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and policies, in a professional and timely manner Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and qualifying life events Coordinate and assist with annual open enrollment processes and employee benefit communications On/Offboard employees in employee portals and electronic personnel files Maintain HRIS systems, benefit portals, and electronic personnel files with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality Maintain and audit employee certification, licensing, and compliance tracking systems Assist with workers’ compensation administration, unemployment claims, and leave administration as needed Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll and benefits reporting to federal and state agencies Support annual audits, compliance testing, and year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within payroll and HR administration functions Perform other duties and special projects as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr Geonerco Management, LLC
