The role

The Client Service Delivery Manager is both client-facing and supervisory. You are the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients — owning communication, financial reporting quality, and the overall client experience — while simultaneously leading your pod(s) (Team Lead, Senior Accountant, Accountant) responsible for delivering the work.

You're accountable for two things at once: every client in your portfolio feels like they have a trusted partner, and the numbers are right. You are the primary client contact, the last reviewer before anything goes out, and the person developing the team underneath you.

What you'll do

Client ownership

• Be the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients
• Present monthly financials, answer client questions, and raise issues before clients do.
• Resolve client concerns directly; escalate to Operations when needed.

Portfolio leadership and quality control

• Lead a pod with a disciplined team of accountants
• Review every monthly close and cleanup deliverable before it reaches the client. Nothing client-facing goes out unreviewed.
• Own the accuracy of everything your pod produces, even when someone else did the keying.
• Hold the pod to 8FF SOPs and deadlines.

Onboarding and transitions

• Own new-client onboarding end to end, including historical cleanups.
• Keep clients informed on progress through onboarding and transitions.

Team development and process

• Train and mentor your pod on 8FF process and standards; give direct, specific feedback that reduces errors over time.
• Flag recurring bottlenecks and propose fixes.

Requirements

• Active CPA license (strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including full-cycle monthly close under US GAAP.
• 2+ years at a client accounting services / outsourced accounting firm, or in public accounting with direct client ownership.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accountants, not just executing individually.
• Fluent in QuickBooks Online. We also run on Notion, Slack, and Double.

This role isn't a fit if

• You've never presented financials to a business owner or been their primary contact.
• You've never been responsible for reviewing someone else's close.
• You want an individual-contributor role without people management.

What success looks like

• Quality: every deliverable that reaches a client has been reviewed and is client-ready.
• Deadlines: no overdue close or cleanup deliverables across your pod.
• Communication: same-day response to client and internal messages.
• Ownership: you're the answer to "who owns this client."
• Team: your pod's error rate trends down, not sideways.
