Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day.The Electrical Engineer/Designer will work in a multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects for a variety of markets.In this role, you won't just design electrical systems for commercial buildings - you'll play a key role in bringing ambitious ideas to life as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. We are looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer/Designer to be part of our firm and grow with us.In this role, you will:Develop electrical distribution and emergency generator system designs and documentation in AutoCAD/Revit.Understanding and design of lighting systems, electrical, and fire alarm systems.Perform electrical load calculations and select and size equipmentEdit electrical system specificationsSurvey existing buildings and identify electrical systems and componentsReview submittals of equipment for compliance with the contract documentsObserve and report upon electrical construction work in progressInteract with project team members and leadersSupport the Data Center and Mission Critical GroupYou will be a great fit if:You have an Associates or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology program (or similar) is a plus.You have 3-5 years of experience in design of electrical systems for various types of facilities.You have design experience in commercial, residential and institutional projects.You have hands-on experience with latest versions of AutoCAD and REVIT, MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software.Skills/abilities:Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines.A confident and positive attitude with colleagues and clients.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong work ethic, along with the ability to work as part of a teamLocation: Irving, TX Travel: 10% or less #LI-OnsiteEqual Opportunity Employment Statement Salas O'Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
