HVAC Estimator
\n \nMy name is Bill Stevens, and I have a new full-time Estimator opportunity available for a major firm located in Islip, Long Island that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below and I am available at any time to speak with you so please feel free to call me. The work schedule will onsite three days a week and two days in the field.
\n \nThe salary for this position will be in the range of $100,000 - $125,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.

\nThe firm is a premier HVAC and Construction firm based in Islip, Long Island, specializing in HVAC projects across various sectors. Their commitment to excellence, innovation, and precision sets them apart in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. The firm is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator with a background in HVAC Systems to join their team.
\n \nSummary:
\nThe ideal HVAC Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for construction projects with a focus on mechanical and HVAC systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation in engineering principles, HVAC systems, and construction methodologies to assess project requirements, labor, materials, and overall budget effectively.
\n \nKey Responsibilities:
\nReview and analyze blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
\nCollaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing and project scope details.
\nConduct site visits as needed to evaluate project conditions and potential challenges.
\nUtilize estimating software and industry tools to develop cost projections for materials, labor, and equipment.
\nPrepare and submit bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns.
\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in project execution.
\nEnsure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards within Nassau & Suffolk Long Island.
\nAssist in contract negotiations, procurement of materials, and subcontractor selection.
\nStay updated on HVAC technologies, mechanical systems, and construction industry trends.
\n \nQualifications & Skills:
\nBachelor’s degree in HVAC Systems Mechanical Systems OR three to five years of estimator experience within the HVAC industry.
\nProficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, eSUB, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, OR similar tools.
\nStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical components.
\nAbility to interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and project specifications.
\nExcellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
\nAbility to manage multiple project estimates under tight deadlines.
