Plumbing Estimator
Take Your Estimating Career to the Next Level
A well-established and growing commercial mechanical and plumbing contractor is looking for an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join its team in Fairfield, NJ.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who wants to work on larger, more complex commercial projects while being part of an established organization with the resources, technical expertise, and reputation to win and deliver high-profile work.
What You'll Do
- Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for commercial plumbing projects.
- Review architectural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed labor and material takeoffs.
- Obtain and analyze pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and customers.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project turnover.
- Support design-build and negotiated projects from conceptual estimating through final proposal.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial plumbing estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and construction practices.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with estimating/takeoff software and Microsoft Excel.
- Plumbing trade or field experience is a major plus.
- Experience with Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar platforms is preferred.
