Senior Applications Scientist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Applications Scientist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ideate new application development projects, which add commercial value to the organization;
- Highlight work through Applications Notes, webinars, and presentations and posters at strategic scientific conferences;
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support to understand commercial needs and identify gaps;
- Initiate and manage collaborations with customers for the development of new applications and relevant collateral;
- Initiate and manage collaborations with customers for the development of new applications and associated scientific and marketing collateral;
- Limited travel (10 – 20%) to participate in scientific conferences and meet with collaborators, as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience with customer support is considered highly desirable;
- Excellent personal task management skills and a high level of self-motivation;
- Advanced theoretical knowledge of and practical experience in PCR, qPCR, and Next Generation Sequencing sample preparation workflows;
- High level of self-motivation with a collaborative personality;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects;
- Broad theoretical knowledge of NGS applications;
- Advanced theoretical knowledge of and practical experience in PCR and qPCR applications.
