Our company is looking for a Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic calculations and lay outs;
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and a basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts;
  • Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit, Trane Trace) are preferred;
  • Maintains drawing revisions;
  • Utilization of Revit in development of three dimensional models of buildings and their components under direction of more senior staff;
  • Work closely with engineers, system operators and multiple departments as required to facilitate job duties;
  • Edit mobile and PC applications used during new product development and testing;
  • Develop embedded software using Microchip/Atmel MCUs or MPUs;
  • Assist with relay and control design;
  • Work with computer software simulations to conduct various types of transmission or distribution system analyses;
  • Support documentation for new designs (product, software, and test specifications);
  • Data gathering, system updates and supporting existing engineering staff with their on-going efforts;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems found during testing;
  • Perform various short circuit and coordination studies;
  • Support qualification testing of new designs.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75;
  • Must be attending an accredited 4-year college or university;
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening;
  • Must be able to work full-time during term;
  • Must be able to function autonomously in a fast paced dynamic environment and be able to provide clear recommendations and feedback;
  • Must have valid United States driver’s license;
  • Ability to read schematics and use test equipment;
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics and circuit diagrams;
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
  • Strong project management skills are required;
  • Interest in automotive electronics and advanced technology;
  • Understanding of C programming language and fundamental programming and debugging techniques;
  • Pursuing degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
