Our company is looking for a Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Escalate tax related issues to management as necessary;
  • Reviews, identifies, and maintains corrections related to Federal annual exemption withholding requirements;
  • Stays abreast of current legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll;
  • Setup new jurisdictions with proper authorities and facilitate appropriate taxation in HRIS and third‐party vendors;
  • Prepare all employer required monthly/quarterly returns processed outside of third‐party provider;
  • Partners with third‐party settlement provider confirming accurate deposit and filing of tax liabilities;
  • Research, document and monitor payroll tax issues and tax notices with third‐party settlement provider ensuring and maintaining timely resolutions;
  • Provides weekly updates regarding outstanding tax issues;
  • Completes the MC W 2c uploads e.g. upload JE data to the general ledger system;
  • Resolves all assigned Schedule X items e.g. general ledger account analyses, prepare reports;
  • Completes tax adjustments;
  • Meets all assigned SLAs e.g. tax returns, journal entries, and required clearing of outstanding items;
  • Performs other duties as appropriate;
  • Performs assigned Quarterly or Annual Audits True ups to ensure accurate payments returns;
  • Completes the monthly Gross up file and manages the Gross up matrix.

  • Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll for large organizations with payroll taxes handled internally or using ADP Smart Compliance;
  • Experience with Microsoft Access;
  • Oracle or Vertex software experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline;
  • Experience in a high volume processing environment, with the ability to communicate professionally both written and verbally;
  • Minimum of 1 year of Finance, Accounting or Payroll Tax experience.
