Project Manager/Estimator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Project Manager/Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Complete accurate estimates of required labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors needed to complete project;
- Knowledgeable of the MEP/HVAC industry;
- Ability to read and evaluate architectural/MEP drawings and relevant contract documents;
- Performs other duties as required;
- Review drawings and specifications to determine quantities and calculate pricing;
- Develop and maintain positive communication with client, vendors, suppliers and subcontractors;
- Hiring, recruiting, managing, and maintaining subcontractor base across assigned geographical area;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interact and collaborate at all levels;

- Prepare project documents and schedules;
- Manage multiple projects and communicate consistently with all parties involved;
- Ability to inspect and produce an accurate scope for restoration repairs;
- Ensure all project activi ti es are being completed in a timely manner by using documentation tools such as the Estimator Checklist;
- Work with insurance companies and adjusters to provide timely estimates and build relationships;
- Possess a TWIC card, or ability to obtain one.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform in a collaborative, team-based environment;
- Sales and negotiating skills;
- Energetic with a high sense of urgency;
- Experience with creating estimates and proposals;
- Detail oriented;
- Meeting critical project deadlines and progressing projects in logical and cost-efficient manner;
- Negotiating change requests with architects, construction managers, and clients in a professional manner to foster good-will with team members;
- Pre-construction Jobsite visits;
- EPA Lead-Based Painting Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP);
- NYS DEC Stormwater Management;
- Supervisory experience in the construction industry;
- Experience in Restoration Construction industry: 1 year preferred not required;
- A CA Drivers License;
- The ability to legally work in the United States;
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (civil, mechanical or structural).
