Child Welfare Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Child Welfare Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Completion and submission in a timely manner of all required contact notes, visitation monitoring reports, and other required documentation;
- Perform other related tasks as necessary or as assigned;
- In-person contact with children, biological parents, foster/relative care providers as required;
- Transportation of clients, as required;
- Participation in regularly established supervisory process for guidance, direction, support and approval of interactions/interventions with clients;
- Monitoring and supervision of parent-child visitation to ensure the safety and well-being of children during these encounters, as required;
- Completion and submission of case contact notes and submitted to the state database system;
- Client transportation as required/flexible hours evenings and some weekends;
- Monitoring and supervision of parent-child visitation to ensure the safety and well-being of the children;
- Job visits;
- Documentation of all transports and visits;
- Physical requirements include lifting car seats in/out of cars and children in/out of cars;
- Supervised visits;
- Transportation of clients to/from therapy appointments;
- Also assists with office work as needed.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of strengths-based, trauma informed interaction with clients;
- Submit to fingerprinting and pass required background checks, including CANTS, LEADS, Sexual Abuse Registry, Illinois State Police, and FBI;
- Basic understanding of child development and parenting, or equivalent life experience;
- High School diploma or GED (AA degree preferred);
- Work schedule consists of days, nights, split shifts or weekend hours;
- Applicant must have a valid Illinois driver’s licensing, proof of automobile liability insurance and access to reliable transportation;
- Applicant must pass fingerprint /criminal background check.
