Our company is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic on call duties;
  • Facilitate security automation by working with cloud service provider APIs, SDKs, and custom source code;
  • Experience in Building and managing Virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker) and ability to read and understand source code;
  • Working knowledge of information security issues;
  • Design, creation, and provisioning of infrastructure;
  • Design, build, manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of SaaS applications with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code;
  • Deploy and maintain applications;
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive;
  • Make infrastructure recommendations to Cognizant Accelerator development teams;
  • Solid experience using configuration management frameworks (e.g. Chef, Puppet);
  • Working knowledge of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc);
  • Validate and provide security hardening guidance of cloud-based services;
  • Collaborate with other engineers to implement operational solutions while defining, adhering to industry best practices;
  • Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity, and establish the appropriate scalability plans;
  • Design and build enterprise cloud solutions that meet Cognizant Accelerators’ customer needs in automation, monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning;
  • Experience being an administrator on a variety of Linux distributions;
  • Experience delivering immutable infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Packer;
  • Strong working knowledge of VMware, KVM, Xen, Hyper-V, or other virtualization software;
  • Experience with information security practices and procedures;
  • Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and application layers;
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring tools;
  • Experience working in a highly distributed company is a plus;
  • Experience with Prometheus/Grafana for metrics aggregation/visualization;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ELK stack;
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools;
  • Experience with Terraform is a plus;
  • Configuration of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins;
  • Experience with automation tools/platforms;
