Cloud Security Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to test new products and features and fix bugs;
- Provide best practice design and integration expertise to customers;
- Supports Bank’s threat intelligence and Data Leakage Prevention monitoring processes;
- Build Support processes that will scale;
- Own customer issues from creation to resolution;
- Communicate technical matters to customers both orally and in writing;
- Assist the Information Security Manager in developing policies and procedures for logging, monitoring, response, and escalations;
- Partner with security teams to enhance cloud security solutions and establish preventative controls to support security needs via automation;
- Continuously work with business partners on vulnerability remediation strategies;
- Analyzes threats detected by the threat intelligence system and tools in the cloud before they cause material damage to the business;
- Promotes DevSecOps culture and provide training / outreach to application development teams;
- Be able to measure and prove the effectiveness of cloud related control to auditors as needed;
- Design, build, deploy tools and reports that provide visibility into all accounts, instances, services in cloud environments;
- Ensure all cloud products / services are meeting configuration and vulnerability management compliance;
- Implements DevSecOps into build automation, deployment automation, test automation, and production release procedures.
Requirements:
- 1+ years professional or internship experience in a technical or IT related role;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
- Industry certifications are a plus: CCNP, CCNA, CCNET, CWNP, CWNA, Network+
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language;
- 5 or more years of related experience preferred;
- Team-oriented; skilled in working within a collaborative environment;
- Bachelor degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience;
- Demonstrated experience in driving strategies and working in a global enterprise to improve security posture;
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
- Highly self-motivated and directed;
- Advanced experience with public Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure); good understanding of SOC, Cloud operations, security, automation, and orchestration;
- Experience with Linux/UNIX Windows servers, MS SQL, Oracle MySQL, MongoDB;
- DevOps and scripting skills in at least one language (other than Bash), ideally Python.
