CMM Programmer/Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CMM Programmer/Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of close tolerance parts in a prototype based environment, developing programs from blue prints, CAD and operation sheets;
- Assist in the performance of gauge studies;
- Develop CMM programs for completed assemblies and component parts (Weld buy off, DV samples, and Walk up work);
- Support all outgoing Quality Inspection requirements (End of line inspection);
- Assist in the management of the lab – control of jobs and parts through the lab – control and monitoring of testing equipment;
- Effectively work with teams to satisfy customer requirements;
- Take direction from and report to the quality lead;
- Responsible for all incoming Supplier Documentation (review and storage);
- Support 1st piece Quality (buy-off) Inspection of all in-process components and sub-assemblies;
- Assist program teams in the development of root cause, corrective actions and preventive actions (problem solving);
- Ability to work with operators, engineering and varying and changing shop schedules;
- Support dimensional tooling development;
- Understand, utilize, develop, implement, maintain, and follow quality system procedures, processes, work instructions, guidelines, forms, etc.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED;
- Analytical skills;
- Possess exceptional people and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of inspection methods, process controls, understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools is preferred;
- A&P License Preferred;
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts;
- Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity;
- 1 year of technical training, military training, or Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience or technical certificate;
- Craft clear communication.
