Our company is looking for a Development Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create 3D conceptual models to meet customer design requirements;
  • Cost estimating and management for both proposal and program activity;
  • Technical compliance and risk assessment/management;
  • Interact with suppliers to rapid prototype parts for risk reduction testing;
  • Requirements generation, allocation, and flow down;
  • Perform design trade studies and hand calculations;
  • Perform tolerance studies to ensure design fidelity;
  • Interact with customers on design, interface and functional details;
  • Development and maintenance of the technical data package, product testing requirements and methods;
  • Validation and verification of complex life science instrumentation;
  • Contribution to the invention of core intellectual property (from conception through validation), white papers, and external publications;
  • Develop and refine modeling and numerical tools for new simulation features;
  • Participate in the design, development and maintenance of BR&E software, particularly the ProMax® process simulator;
  • Integrate various software components with one another (e.g. GUI);
  • Draft and review technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of explosive materials and energetic devices;
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite software;
  • Experience with government specifications and industry standards related to aerospace components’ and systems’ design, manufacture, and test;
  • Skills in using MathCAD, Matlab, and/or ANSYS;
  • Knowledge and experience with MIL-DTL-38999 connectors is highly preferred ;
  • Capacity to tackle multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision;
  • Great enthusiasm for programming with C, C++ and/or Visual Basic;
  • Solid background in chemical engineering principles, particularly thermodynamics, transport phenomena, kinetics, and mathematics;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical devices;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
