Email Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Email Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing HTML content and related assets within clients’ email platforms;
- Performing quality checks and peer reviews\
- Develop and modify responsive email and email templates;
- Contribute to client meetings where email best practices and strategy are being communicated;
- Develop highly complex and customized email campaigns;
- Keep up with industry standards and new best practices in email development;
- Design, code, test, and debug ad hoc email sends and large email campaigns;
- Monitor reputation, engagement, inbox placement, and blacklists across all domains and IPs;
- Interacting with DNS managers within client organizations to coordinate sending domain setup;
- Finding ways to solve difficult problems using initiative;
- Apply dynamic content rules and configure link tracking;
- Contributing wherever necessary to help the team reach its goals;
- Participate in nurture program strategy and execution;
- Knowledgeable on DNS settings for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records;
- Utilize knowledge and research of current email best practices to make suggestions in regard to design, layout, messaging and deliverability.
Requirements:
- Ability to act as a point of escalation for technical requests or issues;
- Ability to take a technical leadership role whenever necessary;
- Advanced to expert knowledge of HTML and CSS;
- Technical understanding of platform-specific scripting languages (e.g., AMPscript, RPL, etc.) and/or JavaScript is a plus;
- 2+ years of experience as an Email Developer;
- Testing and QA of email in multiple browsers, clients and ISPs;
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly;
- HTML, CSS, table-based layouts & mobile responsive coding experience IS A MUST;
- Retrieval and uploading of data files to/from multiple systems and environments;
- bull; Extensive experience with localized mail content; creating mails in multiple languages (including non-romance languages, like Japanese);
- bull; Extensive experience with email testing tools, namely Litmus;
- Knowledge of email construction and best practices;
- 4-5 years email marketing experience utilizing SalesForce Marketing Cloud or similar software; agency experience preferred;
- Understanding of dynamic content and personalization;
- bull; In-depth experience with AMPScript, which is Salesforce’s scripting language which allows dynamic data to be added to email templates.
