Network Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Failover for onsite service work;
- Create SOP and KB articles inside of documentation software;
- OS troubleshooting;
- Actively participate in roadmap education/continuing education;
- Maintain accurate information inside documentation software;
- Server installation and troubleshooting;
- Basic PC network connectivity – Ethernet, TCP/IP and remote access solutions;
- 3 years of related IT experience supporting Microsoft based operating systems;
- Proficiency in English with strong oral and written communication skills;
- Train & manage teams of local contractors to deploy the technology;
- Working knowledge of help desk software and ticketing in general;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to deal with customers in a friendly, professional manner;
- Conduct line of site analysis;
- User & Security Group Administration in Active Directory.
Requirements:
- Advanced troubleshooting – Server OS 2003 – 2016, Exchange, Office 365, SQL – Server (no coding or queries), Vmware, Citrix, and Active Directory;
- Advanced troubleshooting – Mac OS;
- Network + or equivalent;
- Advanced troubleshooting – Firewall Policy, Routing, VLAN, QoS, and Wireless technology;
- Familiarity with facility infrastructure;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience using our client Drive, Docs, Sheets, & Slides or Microsoft Office;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently & with a team of engineers;
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in field deployment;
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs;
- BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent practical experience;
- AA/AS degree in a related field;
- Comfortable working with Linux environments.
