Sr. Hadoop Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sr. Hadoop Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop & execute test scenarios ensuring the stability/performance of applications;
- Have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Possess the ability to associate past experience with current events in order to resolve problems or generate new ideas;
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients & IT co-workers;
- Understand & follow the complete agile SDLC methodology.
Requirements:
- Must have working knowledge of MapReduce, Pig and Hive;
- Good communication skills;
- Cloudera certification added advantage;
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Agile development methodology & DevOps is a +
- Knowledge of Impala is highly recommended;
- Comfortable dealing with data access languages, including SQL;
- Solid understanding of Linux operating system a plus;
- Desire to learn the Fixed Income Business;
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals;
- Experience with architecture, design & development of Big Data & Data Marts utilizing Hadoop and/or in-memory databases such as MongoDB, HBase;
- Prior experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) is desirable;
- Good hands on knowledge of Python, Shell or any similar scripting language;
- Deep understanding of internals of core Hadoop components – YARN, HDFS, and MapReduce;
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent work experience.
