Sr. Security Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sr. Security Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a software assurance model designed to address security defects early in the delivery pipeline;
- Perform security design reviews for new features and product releases;
- Perform code reviews and advise developers on remediation techniques;
- Triage and respond to external inquiries around security vulnerabilities;
- Design controls to detect and respond to common attacks on our platform;
- Facilitate internal training on various security topics to raise awareness and interest.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with security frameworks and various compliance requirements;
- Experience with security technology and processes used to defend an international enterprise network;
- Typical work week is 40 hours with occasional weekend / afterhours required;
- Experience analyzing business or technical problems and proposing and implementing solutions;
- Coordination with Security Analysts as required in the event of a security incident;
- Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task several projects;
- On call rotation for escalations related to outages associated with areas of responsibility;
- Experience with the conduct of an information security investigation and remediation;
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language like Python, Go, C++, Java, Ruby, and shell scripting languages;
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience working with developers in building a software assurance model;
- Work hours are standard US (Eastern), but will require occasional adjustment to accomodate schedules of overseas team members;
- Hands-on experience deploying open source security tools to monitor the cloud infrastructure;
- Experience designing secure web services, RESTful APIs, and microservice architectures;
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive;
- B.S. in Computer Related Field required.
