Industrial Painter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Industrial Painter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Painting surfaces using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers;
- Removing old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting;
- Simulating wood grain, marble, brick, tile or other special effects with cloth, brush, or sponge;
- Trouble shoot functional issues with product;
- Use these types of tools to paint. Banana gauge, Testex tape, Elcometer DFT tester, environmental testing equipment;
- Safely operate jib and overhead crane equipment;
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks;
- DFT sampling;
- Erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders safely to perform tasks above ground level;
- Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster, or other filler;
- Understanding of adhesion testing equipment to prevent paint failure;
- Assist in the paint preparation which could include: sanding, washing, and drying of product;
- Perform related work as assigned;
- Skills relating to Color Management Systems;
- Operates and utilizes lifting aids as necessary to perform work.
Requirements:
- Maintain full attention to training and instruction, asking questions where appropriate;
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Drug free at all times;
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
- High Diploma or GED;
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Ability and desire to work as part of a team;
- The job duties require the employee to bend or stoop;
- Good communication and interaction skills;
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hour shifts required;
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and related equipment;
- Production of quality end products in a timely fashion;
- Regular and on-time attendance;
- Knowledge of material and equipment prepping.
