Catering Associate Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Catering Associate to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Informs dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, have a calorie count ordered or special requests;
- Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and MercyOne business;
- Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else;
- A ctively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients;
- Interacts with Nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients’ food needs are met;
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment;
- Is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks including dishwashing, general sanitation, and cleaning/use of kitchen equipment;
- Completes all daily, weekly, departmental reports as outlined in policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines;
- Participates and attends departmental meetings, huddles and staff development programs as appropriate;
- Communicates with co-workers and coordinator;
- Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors;
- Complete maintenance and operational tasks as assigned by the Hub Manager;
- Work with a team of Catering Captains to beautifully present meals that wow our clients;
- Maintain professionalism while interacting with clients and restaurant partners;
- Provide client feedback using our proprietary app.
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a criminal and MVR background;
- Minimum age of 18 to operate equipment and drive a vehicle;
- 6 months+ of restaurant or food service experience;
- Meet the physical activities and requirements of the job;
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with adults;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times;
- Ability to read, follow and understand written and verbal instructions required;
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment;
- Prior experience working in the field of institutional food service/health care food service preferred, but not required;
- Completion of high school or GED is preferred but not required;
- Must have a general working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn department specific software;
- Have an iPhone or Android phone;
- Be 18 years old or older;
- Be willing to obtain a food handler card.
