Our company is looking for a Catering Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Informs dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, have a calorie count ordered or special requests;
  • Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and MercyOne business;
  • Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else;
  • A ctively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients;
  • Interacts with Nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients’ food needs are met;
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment;
  • Is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks including dishwashing, general sanitation, and cleaning/use of kitchen equipment;
  • Completes all daily, weekly, departmental reports as outlined in policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines;
  • Participates and attends departmental meetings, huddles and staff development programs as appropriate;
  • Communicates with co-workers and coordinator;
  • Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors;
  • Complete maintenance and operational tasks as assigned by the Hub Manager;
  • Work with a team of Catering Captains to beautifully present meals that wow our clients;
  • Maintain professionalism while interacting with clients and restaurant partners;
  • Provide client feedback using our proprietary app.

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a criminal and MVR background;
  • Minimum age of 18 to operate equipment and drive a vehicle;
  • 6 months+ of restaurant or food service experience;
  • Meet the physical activities and requirements of the job;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with adults;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times;
  • Ability to read, follow and understand written and verbal instructions required;
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment;
  • Prior experience working in the field of institutional food service/health care food service preferred, but not required;
  • Completion of high school or GED is preferred but not required;
  • Must have a general working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn department specific software;
  • Have an iPhone or Android phone;
  • Be 18 years old or older;
  • Be willing to obtain a food handler card.
