Responsibilities:
- Keeping detailed record of client visits, calls, and surgeries performed;
- Triaging;
- Radiology techniques and safety;
- Placing catheters;
- Animal restraint;
- Knowledge of appropriate sample handling;
- Anesthetic monitoring;
- Monitoring all changes in patients and giving them all the compassionate care they deserve;
- Running in-house lab work;
- Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses;
- Customer Service;
- Assesses patients;
- Basic husbandry and nursing care;
- Disinfecting and sanitizing hospital and equipment routinely;
- Multitasking while being both efficient and thorough.
Requirements:

- Must be licensed or eligible for license;
- A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology – new grads are welcome And either a current license or scheduled test date;
- Have an outgoing, positive attitude;
- Attention to detail;
- Completion of a 2-year AVMA accredited veterinary technician program;
- License to practice as a veterinary technician in the state of Virginia;
- 6 months experience preferred, but not required.
