Our company is looking for a Academic Dean to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the development and or revision of curricula and implement instructional programs;
  • Facilitates the effective implementation of College policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Creates an environment for successful development and working relationships of teams;
  • Leads through engagement in Academic Affairs and Standards Council, MSCF Shared Governance Council, Professional Development, and Assessment;
  • Ensures management of labs, equipment, and other department resources;
  • Completes faculty evaluations;
  • Promotes flexible delivery times and methods such as weekend college, courses via the Internet, or courses using distance learning;
  • Identifies and eliminates scheduling barriers for our students;
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates personnel;
  • Demonstrates a strong and clear commitment to diversity among both faculty, staff and students consistent with the HTC Diversity Plan;
  • Determine appropriate credentials for faculty and ensure credentialing and licensure processes are met and completed by all faculty;
  • Prepares and maintains program and department budgets;
  • Promotes the values of shared governance and participative management;
  • Ensures appropriate professional development for faculty and staff;
  • Implements strategic initiatives to grow enrollment at our Eden Prairie Campus.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution;
  • Experience with distance learning and the use of technology in the classroom;
  • Experience in regional and programmatic accreditation;
  • Five years’ experience in supervision and administration, preferably in a higher education institution with collective bargaining units;
  • Experience working with career and technical education programs;
  • Experience with supervision of academic units or leading faculty;
  • Experience with increasing college enrollment, student persistence, and student completion rates;
  • Demonstrated the understanding of the mission of the technical colleges;
  • Demonstrated success in partnership development;
  • Minimum of Three Years Supervisory Experience;
  • Demonstrated success in promoting the values of shared governance and participative management;
  • Evidence of a strong and clear commitment to diversity among both students and staff;
  • Experience in developing and administering budgets;
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in higher education;
  • Demonstrated success in a supervisory or management role.
