CFO Job Description

The CFO provides strategic direction of all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Responsible for developing an organization’s overall financial policies. Being a CFO typically reports to Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer. Ensures that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming with applicable laws and regulations Typically requires an advanced degree. In addition, CFO may require a CPA. Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Defines corporate vision and strategy establishes company direction and focus. Executes multiple high impact initiatives to achieve overall corporate goals.

Our company is looking for a CFO to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates efforts to insure effective cash management;
  • Communicates with FEMA and MEMA on behalf of the Association in declared disasters;
  • Prepare Monthly consolidated financial statement and metrics reports;
  • Oversee cash flow planning and forecasting and ensure availability of funds as needed;
  • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements;
  • Provide quarterly updates on financial results, HR and IT initiatives at the board meeting;
  • Oversee employee benefit programs;
  • Collaborate with the school’s council and insurance agents regarding all legal and risk management matters;
  • Management of financial, HR, IT, and administrative: 10 years (Preferred);
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or a related field. CPA required and Master’s degree highly preferred;
  • Work with the Facilities Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of all current and future facilities management;
  • Publicly represent the school in a positive and proactive way, collaborating with other school administrators, and neighbors;
  • Understanding of complex funding, nonprofit accounting and compliance;
  • Oversee the annual filings of tax returns;
  • Functional knowledge of business administration and strategic planning.
