Deal Desk Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Deal Desk Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quotes and Order Forms are approved within pricing and discount policies;
- Run day-to-day quote and pricing approvals;
- Assist Sales with building Order Forms;
- Ensure opportunities are accurately entered and properly booked in the CRM tool;
- Provide proactive support and guidance to the sales team in order to help drive new deals as well as up-sell opportunities;
- Work with finance to ensure all deals have the appropriate booking packages. This includes fully executable agreements and proof of delivery;
- Interface with Deal Desk, Finance and Legal as needed (i.e revenue recognition);
- Maintain an agreed upon SLA on deal turnaround times;
- Interface with Order Management to ensure accuracy of booked sales opportunities;
- Train the CVM team on pricing, quoting and contracting models and best practices and consult with field teams on specific contracts where appropriate;
- Read, interpret, redline and escalate contractual language to ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies;
- Assist the Field Organization during the customer/contracting lifecycle, from Lead-to-Quote, Contract-to-Order, Booking-to-Renewal/Cross-sell/Up-sell;
- Participate in the review of and response to RFP’s, RFI’s, RFQ’s as needed;
- Help drive projects and initiatives focused on improving efficiency and simplifying processes throughout the sales operations and sales organization.
Requirements:
- Strong listening, analytic and organizational skills;
- Experience with SFDC CPQ tool;
- Adept at business partnering and working with cross functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way;
- Understanding of revenue recognition principles and US GAAP;
- BA/BS required;
- 3 years of experience in a deal desk, finance, contracts, sales operations, or revenue role; software/SaaS experience required;
- Strong financial modeling and analysis skills; program and project management skills required;
- Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful;
- Experience in Order Management/Administration in a fast growing software enterprise;
- Experience of Sales Operations in a software sales organization;
- You deliver customer and partner support like you expect to receive it; with excellence;
- Ability to prioritize to meet business needs;
- A thorough understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate and progress long, complex sales cycles;
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
- Help coordinate system tie-outs and delivery timing details for revenue recognition with Services, Accounting and Customer Service teams.
