Our company is looking for a Statistician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Representing AstraZeneca to Health Authorities and Reimbursement & Payer Organizations for specific projects;
  • Apply expert skills to investigate and use standard, as well as novel, statistical approaches for relevant statistical issues;
  • Develop design options and provide high-quality information for the business through partnership with internal and external experts;
  • Identify patterns present in complex data sets/remove irrelevant information;
  • Provide cogent reporting with appropriate technical translation;
  • Lead statistical employees, either by technical leadership or line management;
  • Contribute to the design and progress of clinical trial programs;
  • Compile, code and categorize data;
  • Coordinate statistical activities for multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Apply appropriate statistical and evaluation design and methods that fit the evaluation questions and project needs;
  • Summarize statistical and non-statistical findings. Clearly communicate findings in easily understood ways;
  • Create, maintain and update data dictionaries and coding guides;
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in different procedures and methods for data cleaning and analysis;
  • Organize, validate and test data for inaccuracies;
  • Develop integrated spreadsheet and database templates for accumulating, formatting, and organizing program data.

Requirements:

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, especially when communicating statistical concepts to non-statisticians;
  • Focused on solving challenging problems through teamwork and partnerships;
  • Understanding of Frequentist and Bayesian theories;
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or related field;
  • SAS, R, or S-Plus experience;
  • 1+ years of experience working in a research environment;
  • Proficient in modern programming and coding practices in the R statistical programming environment;
  • Highly proficient and knowledgeable in the use of a statistical analysis tool such as R, STATA, or SPSS;
  • Experience or background in culturally responsive evaluation;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word and Excel;
  • Curious. Eager to learn and explore;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • Able to establish and maintain relationships with a demonstrated capacity for working in a collaborative environment;
  • Able to independently plan and organize time, balancing competing demands and projects. A self-starter.
