Part Time Produce Team Member Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Part Time Produce Team Member to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items;
- Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required;
- Monitors and prevents spoilage and communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor;
- Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product;
- Immediately reports safety hazards and violations;
- Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing;
- Assists with periodic inventory checks;
- Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership;
- Knowledge of proper rotation, preparation, display and storage techniques for all items in the produce category;
- Occasional help with Department level special projects;
- Adherence to all GROW store policies;
- Proper use of time to achieve daily, weekly, etc. goals;
- 1-2 years of intimate produce experience including but not limited to seasonality, sourcing, ordering, and pricing;
- Work with Department Lead and Department Assistant to achieve department & store goals;
- Customer service of the highest order.
Requirements:
- Ability to learn and understand growing processes that differentiate conventional from organic produce;
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions;
- Ability to f ollow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department;
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery;
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members;
- Ability to sell proactively;
- Strong work ethic and a bility to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency;
- An appreciation of Team & Store Processes;
- Willingness to go beyond what’s expected;
- Attention to detail, ambition, curiosity;
- Completion of tasks in a timely manner.
