Precision Grinder operates precision grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments and grinding machines for grinding angles, contours, lines, and spheres on to surfaces. Being a Precision Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Precision Grinder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Precision Grinder typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.

Our company is looking for a Precision Grinder to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used;
  • Determining product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground per blue prints and router instructions;
  • Applicant must be able to setup and use micrometers, dial bore gages, snap gages, profilometers, sin bars, etc;
  • Must be willing and able to pass a drug test;
  • Must bring a consistently positive and “whatever it takes” attitude to work;
  • Attention to detail and following instructions;
  • Having an interest and the ability to explore other roles/skill sets within the company such as new grinding/machining equipment;
  • Having a general understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Walking/Standing up to 9.5 hours per day;
  • Can lift 50+ lbs;
  • HS Diploma or GED;
  • Must be at least 18 years old;
  • Background check;
  • Drug Test.
