Research Associate Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Research Associate to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- SDS-PAGE, protein function/stability and enzymatic assays;
- Column chromatography with GE Akta systems;
- Construct and validate gene and plasmid constructs;
- Ferment bacterial cultures;
- Work as part of a scientific team to implement experimental plans;
- Single cell and Functional Cellular FACS based assays;
- ELISA-based assay operation in both singleplex and multiplex formats;
- Prepare technical reports to summarize findings;
- Run data analysis and import data into internal database on routine basis;
- Troubleshoot and optimize assays through data interpretation and identification of novel or alternate procedures and techniques;
- Utilize a variety of molecular, cellular, genetic, and pharmacological techniques;
- Other general lab duties;
- Creating and formatting Case Report Forms, manual of operations documents, and other study-related documentation;
- Proactively identify pre-analytical problems that may adversely affect results;
- Manage all aspects of the Indigeneous Food Garden.
Requirements:
- Experience in Drug Product Development, Quality Control and/or Analytical Development;
- A positive member/customer service attitude;
- Demonstrated knowledge of research methods and both qualitative and quantitative analysis;
- Experience with computer software (Office Suite – Excel);
- Experience using SQL, Python or other data science tools;
- This position may require the ability to work rotating shifts or beyond business hours;
- Strong influencing skills;
- Knowledge of UDL and experience in schools or other educational settings is a plus;
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities;
- Proven experience in content gathering or data management;
- Flexible with the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize due to conflicting demands;
- Strong experience with lab documentation and reporting;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Some analytical abilities and understanding of statistical methods used in development of molecular methods;
- Basic computer navigation skills required. Advanced skills preferred.
