Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate transport equipment (forklift, lift trucks, tow trucks);
- Complete inhouse forklift training class and the forklift evaluation before operating a forklift;
- Unload materials using a forklift;
- Operate forklift truck using safe operating procedures;
- Operate a sit-down/propane powered forklift or pallet jack;
- Perform forklift preventative maintenance checks and attend forklift safety meetings;
- Load from trucks using forklift;
- Operate forklift to load/unload route trucks and inter-branch trailers;
- Assist with ensuring a safe and clean working environment, inside and out, for assigned storage center location;
- Utilize a forklift to load and unload storage containers from delivery trucks;
- Unload products using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment;
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift;
- Unload product into/from trucks using forklift/pallet jack;
- Utilizing a forklift to load and unload storage containers;
- Completed before operating a forklift.
Requirements:
- Maintain safe and clean work area;
- 1 plus years current experience on a sit down forklift;
- Use RF scan guns to scan labels;
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent;
- Experience using RF devices;
- Ability to work independently;
- Good Attendance;
- 1-2 years of experience preferred;
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently;
- Certified to operate a forklift and pallet jack;
- Forklift Experience ( client will re-certify);
- This is a temp-to-hire position;
- Must be able to wear a company-provided uniform;
- Excellent math skills as well as a strong attention to detail.
