Material Handler Job Description

Materials Handler I loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Being a Materials Handler I has knowledge of commonly-used practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Materials Handler I primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. May require a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Materials Handler I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Our company is looking for a Material Handler to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory;
  • Other duties assigned by Production Supervisor and Plant Mgr;
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Inspection and quality tracking and reporting;
  • Entering receiving data into computer;
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs);
  • Charge, test, package, and label cell phone batteries;
  • Prepare finished products for shipment;
  • Fulfills Manufacturing Orders; identifies materials requested and pulls material from stock;
  • All interactions will be performed in a professional, respectful, high-quality and customer centered manner in the proper dress code;
  • Prepare kitting packages for assembly production;
  • Labeling;
  • Staging freight as needed;
  • Receiving and counting stock items;
  • Boxing and Labeling Parts for Shipment.

Requirements:

  • Machine operator experience or graduate of a machine certificate program;
  • Minimum 1 year of warehousing, materials, or logistics experience;
  • Inventory control skills / experience;
  • Certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months of related experience and training;
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Experience using RF scanner;
  • No prior experience required;
  • Teamwork and a positive attitude essential to maintain a culture of cooperation and respect;
  • Must pass background check;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, preferred;
  • Must be FLEXIBLE;
  • Ability to read and understand orders and count different products stored in different areas and layers;
  • At least one-year experience in a warehouse environment;
  • One to three years related experience in warehouse environment including;
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stand, and reach continuously throughout the shift.
