The Estimator will learn Welty processes and tools and develop professional skills while assisting with the preparation of cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals. This position will experience many facets of the construction and estimating process in order to develop and understanding of the building process and how Welty executes projects. Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.

Reads and outlines project specifications.

Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.

Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.

Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors.

Works collaboratively and creates relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.

Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support, as opportunities exist.

Complies with all company and site policies and best practice standards.

Participates in and complies with all company safety and quality programs and procedures.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Proficiency in construction estimating software.

Ability to learn quantity surveys.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred).

Successful completion of company training and role-specific professional development coursework, within required timeframe (Required).

Successful completion of OSHA 30 training, within required timeframe (Required).

May require periods of overnight travel.

Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project demands.
