Registered Nurse (RN) - Weekend Night Shift

Registered Nurse - Night Shift Shift Details 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Every third weekend and holidays as required.

Float is mandatory. All travelers may be required to float between multiple campuses as needed.

Experience Requirements Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.

No first-time travelers accepted.

Acute Care Rehabilitation experience is preferred.

Certifications and Skills BLS certification

EPIC electronic health record proficiency

Ability to interpret laboratory results and perform medication reconciliation

Patient Health Questionnaire, history taking, and allergy documentation

Monitoring vital signs including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse

Dressing changes and preparation of aseptic/sterile procedure trays

Capillary blood sampling, specimen labeling, throat swabs, urine clean catch (UA), and phlebotomy

Telephone triage and handling pharmacy calls or patient refill requests

Patient Population and Care Setting Experience with patients having cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI), acquired brain injury (ABI), spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility.

Work is performed in an inpatient rehabilitation department providing specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs such as stroke, aneurysm, and post-operative surgical recovery.

Patient Ratios Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.

One unit operates with a 1:7 ratio, which is considered equivalent in acuity to the 1:6 ratio on a rotating basis.
