Head of Facility Management

A well-established, mission-driven organization in the Baltimore area is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building operations for a large, multi-use administrative and worship campus. This individual will play a key leadership role in ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and professionally while supporting staff, visitors, and tenants.
This position requires a hands‑on, proactive facilities professional who can operate independently, lead internal staff, and manage a wide range of external service providers.
Lead, coach, and supervise on‑site maintenance personnel and coordinate the work of contracted service providers
Oversee day‑to‑day operations for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, security, access control, and building automation
Manage and administer vendor contracts across security, janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, elevators, waste & recycling, pest control, utilities, and related services
Develop, monitor, and manage annual operating and capital budgets for facility operations
Establish and execute preventive maintenance programs across all building systems
Coordinate and manage capital improvement projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
Partner with risk management and leadership to develop and execute emergency response and business continuity plans
Serve as primary point of contact for building tenants, including space utilization, layouts, drawings, and cost allocations
Manage procurement of building supplies, safety equipment, office and janitorial materials, uniforms, and related consumables
Oversee site security including badges, access levels, key control, and garage access administration
Coordinate facilities support for meetings and events, including space setup and logistics
Collaborate with local agencies, community partners, and city services as needed
Support additional affiliated facilities on an as‑needed basis
Minimum 5 years of facilities management experience in a complex, occupied building environment
Master or Journeyman Plumber
Master or Journeyman Electrician
High School Diploma required; trade school training or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems and preventive maintenance programs
Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
Experience with building automation systems, security platforms, and access control
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and facilities‑related software
Self‑directed, decisive, and comfortable managing a broad scope of responsibility
