Job Description Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a unique, short-term virtual assignment supporting a 5th-grade student. This contract opportunity allows you to deliver personalized, specially designed instruction remotely. You'll work closely with one student, providing individualized attention while contributing to their educational journey before a transition to another placement. The role offers flexibility—both in hours and approach—making it ideal for educators who value adaptable schedules and meaningful interaction.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification is required
Experience in providing online instruction or comfort with virtual learning environments
Strong knowledge of specially designed instruction principles for elementary students
Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
Ability to collaborate with school support staff and guardians remotely
Excellent communication and adaptability skills
Responsibilities:
Deliver two hours of direct, virtual instruction weekly tailored specifically to the 5th-grade student's needs
Provide additional indirect services as appropriate, such as developing materials or coordinating with other teachers
Adjust instruction as needed, based on student progress and ongoing communication with the district and student's support system
Document student growth and regularly update relevant stakeholders on progress
Maintain compliance with all educational and privacy standards
