Overview Welder / Mechanic role at CBSL Transportation Services, Inc.
Summary: The Depot Mechanic/Welder is responsible for executing all phases of container repair to meet company standards for quality control and to provide customer-centered service at the lowest possible cost. This role is accountable for completion of certificates, estimating repairs, and complying with all company policies. The Depot Mechanic/Welder inspects and tests containers and performs welding tasks as instructed by the Manager of Container Operations and/or Operations Manager.
Responsibilities Lead all phases of container repair to meet quality standards and control costs.
Ensure proper handling of paperwork to meet company standards for quality control.
Proficient use of Oxy/Acetylene gas cutting torch.
Proficient use of Plasma arc cutting torch.
Proficient use of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding on carbon and stainless steel.
Understand and perform welding procedure specifications provided.
Enforce and practice safety rules and company policy.
Repair miscellaneous ISO tank valves as needed.
Comply with all company policies.
Qualifications High School Diploma/GED required.
Proficient knowledge of MIG and GTAW welding processes.
