Service - Field - Engineering

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to provide technical support, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting services across a range of customer sites. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure equipment and systems are installed, tested and maintained to a high standard. This role involves regular travel and may require occasional overnight stays, depending on operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include planning and carrying out site visits, conducting inspections, diagnosing faults and completing repairs or upgrades. You will install, commission and configure equipment, verify performance against technical specifications and produce accurate service reports. The role will also involve responding to customer queries, providing technical guidance, supporting project delivery and escalating complex issues where necessary. You will be expected to maintain a safe working environment, follow relevant procedures and comply with health and safety, quality and regulatory requirements at all times. Accurate record-keeping, effective stock management and the careful use of tools and test equipment will also be important aspects of the position.

Applicants should have proven experience in a field-based engineering, maintenance or technical support role, with the ability to read technical drawings, manuals and schematics. A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience is desirable. You will need strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, sound electrical, mechanical or systems knowledge, and confidence working independently at customer locations. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a professional approach to customer service. A full UK driving licence is required. Training will be provided where appropriate, but flexibility, reliability and a willingness to develop your technical expertise are vital for success in this role.
