Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions maintains the integrity of the admissions process, ensuring efficient evaluation of credentials and implementation of strategies to provide access to higher education.

Primary Purpose of Position
This position will support the undergraduate admissions office in recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling a talented and diverse student body to advance the university’s mission.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proven excellence in verbal and written communication.

Ability to present information one‑on‑one, in small and large groups to diverse audiences.

Strong prioritization, planning, and independent decision‑making skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Experience using a student information system such as BANNER, DATATEL, or Admission Pros.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for interaction with administrators, staff, faculty, students, and visitors.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsible for reviewing and managing student applications, ensuring timely submission of required components.

Implementation of recruitment strategies and commitment to working with diverse populations.

Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of information via the BANNER system.

Willingness to travel frequently.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of admissions experience preferred. Degree must be from an accredited institution. Experience in public contact, oral and written communication, and interpretation of policies and procedures in higher education or related fields preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Work Location
Fully on‑site (dedicated office at duty station).

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Student Recruitment and Data Functions: Review, authenticate, and make official admissions decisions. Conduct research on assigned territories and analyze admissions eligibility. Implement recruitment strategies in assigned territories, including high school and community college visits.

Administrative Responsibilities: Manage recruitment market in State of South Carolina. Serve as MAR (Eagle In Flight) Coordinator, managing data and follow‑up for state‑approved program.

Recruitment Responsibilities: Increase responsibilities with admissions processing, including higher‑level decision making. Conduct research and analysis of admissions eligibility. Implement recruitment strategies outlined in the admissions plan for assigned territories.

Collaboration and Campus Engagement: Serve as Alumni Liaison responsible for scheduling and conducting HEART training for alumni, faculty, and staff. Maintain data, certify trainees and respond to admissions material requests of certified members.
