GSG) is an industry-leading Professional Design Firm providing Civil Engineering and Environmental Services to State, County, Municipal, and private clients. GSG maintains a staff of over 150 technical professionals delivering planning, design, and construction services for new infrastructure developments, expansions, and renovations throughout the Midwest. GSG is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer/Project Manager to join our growing structural engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the planning, design, and delivery of diverse building and infrastructure projects while serving as a technical resource, project manager, and client liaison. Lead structural engineering projects from concept development through construction completion.
- Plan, analyze, and design structural systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, municipal, transportation, and other building projects.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, technical reports, construction documents, and engineering studies.
- Design structures utilizing structural steel, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Utilize structural analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for design and project execution.
- Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Conduct peer reviews and oversee compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare material takeoffs, cost estimates, and engineering opinions of probable construction costs.
- Participate in construction administration activities.
- Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and structural evaluations of existing facilities.
- Support forensic investigations, rehabilitation projects, and structural assessments.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Technical expertise with analysis software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Technical expertise with industry-standard structural software.
- Demonstrated experience leading structural design projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong technical background in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.
